CHAPTER 90 - EMIGRANTS AND DUCKLINGS ---- CAPÍTULO 90 - EMIGRANTES Y PATITOS

"Hyde Park was quite a spectacle last Sunday. Claire has taken to feeding the ducks on the Serpentine with a seriousness and concentration that would make you laugh, though we have to restrain ourselves as we appear to be fattening them up for Christmas, and people are already giving us rather suspicious looks. Claire, however, insists on throwing them breadcrumbs with great abandon. Alistair says she has the same character as Grandmother, and I rather think he is right, though I am not entirely sure whether he means it as a compliment or a warning. In either case, what a blessed warning it would be."

"P.S. Little Claire has insisted on adding something of her own. What you will find on the enclosed sheet is, according to her, 'Daddy playing the piano and the little ducks in the park'. I thought it best to provide a translation, as without context it might be rather difficult to decipher."
