MADAME DU GAST

 

On leaving the place, waiting for one or more free carriages, the elegant lady met the British delegation, who were still cheerfully chatting nearby. But Mrs Smith's visual acuity almost made her faint when, turning her head guided by curiosity to know what or who aroused the admiration of all those present, she found himself face to face with, nothing more and nothing less, his highly admired Madame Du Gast. When she saw her, Mrs Smith, with her usual verbal incontinence, could not restrain herself and began to shout:

 – Madame Du Gast! Vous êtes très belle et trés élégante! Je suis son plus grand admirateur!

 Al salir del recinto, a la espera de uno o varios carruajes libres, la elegante dama se encontró con la delegación británica que aún estaba en los aledaños charlando animadamente. Pero la agudeza visual de Mrs Smith casi le provoca un desmayo cuando, al girar la cabeza guiada por la curiosidad de saber qué o quién despertaba la admiración de todos los presentes se encontró de bruces con, nada más y nada menos, su admiradísima Madame Du Gast. Al verla, Mrs Smith, con su habitual incontinencia verbal, no pudo refrenarse y empezó a gritar:

– Madame Du Gast! Vous êtes très belle et trés élégante! Je suis son plus grand admirateur!
